Helen Ruggieri papers relating to William Stafford, 1985-1996.

Papers include correspondence, photographs, manuscripts, printed material, audio recordings, and other papers by or relating to William Stafford and a literary group ("Verbal Events") organized by Stafford and Helen Ruggieri. The correspondence consists of twelve letters and one postcard from William Stafford to Ruggieri, dating from 1985 to 1992, discussing group activities and work and other literary and travel plans, and three letters from Dorothy Stafford to Ruggieri. The photographs consist of several snaphots of Stafford and of group members, including Ruggieri, Frank Faulkner, Joanne Hart, Jean Pearson, Francine Sterle, Emma Lou Thayne, and others. The manuscripts include seven poems, computer printouts and photocopies, by Stafford. Other materials include a printed keepsake from a reading by Stafford and a 1996 audio recording, "Remembering William Stafford," of commemorative readings by members of the "Verbal Events" group.
